I’m back, and hopefully to stay… this time

So, I’ve been gone for a while. Not something I planned on, but the wagon kept moving after I fell off. It’s kind of sad really. I would love to blame someone else, I really would, but I can’t. I was seeing results from the diet and exercise, I was happy and proud of dropping the weight quickly, and I sabotaged myself. I went along with friends and my girlfriend to go and eat out, to be bad. Maybe I could stretch things, and blame it on them… but that would just be selling myself short. I need to get back into the correct mindset and be determined that nothing will pry me from the goals that I have set for myself. So, maybe this boat load of new food will help. I went out to Nutrisystem and chose my own meals rather than settle for the same old package. I hope this will shake things up and get me back into the swing of things. Breakfast was the apple granola bar, man, I dig those things. I also had the typical whole wheat bread, a prepackaged cup of apple sauce (this one was peach and apple, unsweetened… mmmm, it was good) and a dairy item.

Lunch was the bread, cottage cheese (1%), salad and the Bacon Cheddar Mashers. Yes, the mashers are new to me. So, where to start with these things… I’m going to be very frank. First, they’re “baby shit” yellow. Second, they’re very pasty in consistency… much like the afore mentioned baby excretions. Well, they’re pasty with the exception of the bacon… which throws the consistency off completely. As far as taste goes, which is the most important I suppose, they’re “okay” at best. They’re rather bland. C – .

Din-din was the spicy Cajun rice with chicken and sausage. To tell you the truth, there wasn’t much flavor to it, but it did have a nice kick of heat! It gets an even B. After dinner, I selected the chocolate cherry cordials for desert. Hubba hubba! These things, which taste a lot like their normal chocolate desert pieces are every bit as good as I was hoping. Mmm, A!

Glad too see you are back, I kept checking for a new post! My first experiance with the mashers was horrible! They never did become “pasty” as you described them?? Mine were runny and very gross!! Needless to say I never ate them, ever since then I keep a extra lunch item in my desk at work …. just in case I don’t like the one I brought?!! NS is suppost to be coming out with “new” and “improved” items soon which I can hardly wait to try!! Good luck at your weight loss!

    Heya Annie!

Thanks for the feedback, it’s nice to know that I wasn’t the only one who didn’t like the mashers.

Mine were very pasty. I’ve had a couple of incidences with the NS meals coming out too runny for my liking so I’ve been adding less water than recommended (it keeps things like the Tex-mex and the black beans and rice from coming out as soup… I like them more on the dry side). Either way, runny or pasty, it doesn’t sound like they’re very good. I think I might follow your advice and take an extra lunch or two to work, just incase.
